Experience and competencies
John provides the board with extensive insights into financial reporting and risk management, which he gained through his successful career in investment banking and capital markets and then, latterly, in asset management; international experience in the US and Asia; and background in finance, operations and technology – all of which are of great importance to Aberdeen’s strategy.
From 2008 to 2010, John was Chief Operating Officer of Threadneedle Asset Management Limited. Previously, he held several senior executive positions at Merrill Lynch in London, New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accounting.
